How we work
Medical disclaimer
In an emergency
If you have chest pain, trouble breathing or signs of a stroke, call 911 (in the US) or your local emergency number. Don’t wait, and don’t look it up here first.
Education, not medical advice
After the Scope publishes health education. Nothing on this site is medical advice, a diagnosis or a treatment plan.
We don’t know your injury, your surgery or your history. Your own clinicians do.
Your care team’s plan comes first
If anything here differs from what your surgeon or physical therapist told you, follow their protocol. Take your questions to them.
After surgery: call your surgeon’s office promptly if you notice
- A fever.
- Increasing redness, warmth or drainage at the incision.
- New pain or swelling in your calf.
- New numbness or weakness.
- Pain that your prescribed plan doesn’t control.
Don’t wait for your next scheduled visit. If you can’t reach the office, go to urgent care or an emergency room.
Peptides and research products
Our peptide articles cover research only. They are not dosing advice. Products sold for research use are for laboratory research use only, not for human consumption.
The quiz
Our quiz is a reader quiz, not a medical test. It doesn’t diagnose anything. See how the quiz works.
No patient relationship
Reading this site, taking the quiz or writing to us doesn’t make you anyone’s patient.
