What we collect
Our email signup is the recovery quiz (see “Quiz answers” below). If you signed up earlier for The Appointment Playbook, we have your email address, the recovery stage you chose, the body part you chose (optional) and the page you signed up from. If you click the button in one of our emails to get the research notes, we record that choice with your email address.
Why we collect it
To send the emails you signed up for and to choose articles that fit your situation. Your stage and the page you signed up from tell us which articles are most useful to you.
Where it’s stored
Sign-ups are stored with our website host, Netlify, and our email service, Omnisend. We don’t sell your information.
Your choices
Every email includes a way to unsubscribe. To have your information deleted, reply to any email and ask.
Quiz answers
When you take our recovery quiz and enter your email, we save your answers (what got hurt, where you are in recovery, the worst part right now, what your work asks of it, how long it’s been, what you’ve tried, how you like to get help and what you want back), the result they produce, your first name if you give it, the date and the page you took it on. We use them to show your plan, to send your result and to choose which articles and emails fit you.
The quiz is a reader quiz, not a medical test or a psychological assessment, and we don’t use your answers to draw conclusions about your health. If you take the quiz without entering an email, your answers stay in your own browser. We don’t sell your answers or share them with advertisers. They’re stored with our website host, Netlify, and our email service, Omnisend. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe. To have your quiz answers deleted, reply to any email and ask.
Contact and story forms
If you use our contact form, we keep your name (if you give it), your email address and your message. If you share your recovery story, we keep your first name (if given), your email address, what got hurt, your recovery stage and your story. We use them to reply to you, or to ask about your story.
Messages and stories are stored with our website host, Netlify. They aren’t added to our email list. To have them deleted, reply to any of our emails or use the contact form.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to count visits and to see which pages, links and quiz steps people use, so we know what helps. It uses cookies and records things like the pages you view, the site that sent you and your general location. We never send your quiz answers or your email address to Google Analytics.
Not medical advice
After the Scope publishes research education. Nothing on this site is medical advice.
